‘Obi Wan Kenobi’ Episode 4 Review: This Is Peak Star Wars Geekdom

Posted on June 8, 2022 by deweys

‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ episode 4 brought me back to when I was a kid playing with my action figures in the backyard. Beautiful sunny days as I made up story after story about Luke and Han battling Darth Vader and the empire. So fun and, quite frankly, so freeing. That sense of whimsy came over me while I watched this week’s episode. Obi-Wan somehow survives being burnt alive and can successfully form a rescue party to grab Leia from the Inquisitor’s home base. Much of the episode made sense, but this is Star Wars; it doesn’t necessarily have to.

We did see a transformation occur during this episode. Vader takes even more of a violent turn, and it seems Obi-Wan might be rounding into form. Is it because each now has a sole purpose? Maybe, but we all know it’s leading toward these two facing off again. I guess where I am confused about how they will get to that point. Based on this episode left off, it seems as if they managed to put a tractor beam on Leia’s droid, which will allow them to be tracked.

I guess there will be a massive assault, and the final battle will take place in the midst of this. We shall see if this holds.
